Life With a 1 year old

The alarm clock was set for 7 o'clock this morning (Saturday.) The Easter bunny was in town, visiting the YMCA, our favorite hang out these days. We were scheduled to eat pancakes at 9:00 A.M. with the Easter Bunny and then hunt for eggs. We had it all planned out. Well, I have learned all planned out means nothing when you have a 1 year old.

We did manage to sleep in until 7:00, yes sleep in. Normal rise time is 5 A.M. in the Jones household. We were out of the house in time to make it to eat pancakes with the Easter Bunny... Tyson was not to sure about the large bunny with a huge head and eyes bigger than he has ever seen. He pointed, and smiled but as we got closer his grip on my shoulder was getting tighter and tighter. "As long as mommy touches then bunny than it must be okay" It took a few minutes but as the other kids were running and sitting with the bunny Tyson managed to loosen up. We did get a picture, but Tyson was not smiling, more frightened than anything. The rest of the breakfast any closer than 5 feet from Mr. Easter Bunny put us in freak out mode. Who ever thought that the children were going to love an oversized bunny??

Plans were to hunt for eggs but the pancakes and pictures wore Tyson out. He fell asleep before it was our turn to find eggs, and the best mom in the world forgot his Easter basket anyways so we were going to have to stuff them in out pockets if we would have made it that far. Tyson found one egg on the table before breakfast and that satisfied his 15 month old curiosity, so we will save the hunting for next year.

So our planned out Saturday turned into nap time by 10:00...what do we do now?
